Wow, what a year! God has done some awesome things through In Jesus Name and His vision isn’t slowing down. We wanted to update everyone and remind you what a mighty God we serve! In Jesus Name Medical Ministry has come a long way, all to the Glory of God, but it is just the beginning! God continues to amaze us with His blessings on the ministry and revealing directions for additional ministry opportunities. We are humbled that He has given us the opportunity to be a part of His plan!
Pan De Vida Feeding Center was just the start and it is continually growing! We are currently feeding around 60 children, 5 days a week. Not only do they receive nutritious food, but they are fed the Word of God that will make an eternal difference in their lives. English and music classes are in full swing and we now have our own praise and worship team!
This week we received the news that the land registration is complete! We have waited a long time for this to happen! The land will be the site for Casas De Nana. Over the next few weeks, paperwork will be finalized, and we will officially own the property that is immediately next to our existing property in Guatemala! We cannot begin to thank God for all He has done, even in our impatience. But His timing is perfect and we trust that He has every detail set in order! Our first order of business will be to place a wall around the property. We will have two and three bedroom models and the property should hold somewhere between six to eight homes. There will also be an on site laundry facility for the housing community to share. These “casitas”, small homes, will be for single mothers/fathers with children or children raising siblings. Casas De Nana will offer those that live there a fresh start with Godly guidelines for their lives.
In the meantime, construction is in full swing on the Pan De Vida school. Six classrooms and an office on the bottom floor are already blocked and soon the work will move upward for the second floor. This will allow for 12 classrooms and future development. Our paperwork is in process and we are ready to move forward! The school will give students a Christian education and they will be taught about the “Puerta Estrecha,” the narrow gate to Heaven.
The mission house portion of Pan de Vida continues to house teams and the number of teams that are coming to utilize our facility has increased. It has become a place for churches in the area to hold meetings, weddings and church services. We would love to see the facility used year round by teams. The board works diligently to assist other teams in planning their own mission work to Guatemala and serving the people that we love so dearly.
IJN also continues medical missions. We took two teams this year to Guatemala, in June and September. We saw thousands receive medications, eyeglasses, food, and clothes. Most importantly, we witnessed scores accept Jesus as their Saviour, their lives touched and turned around. We also witnessed many mighty miracles occur through the healing power of Jesus. Most recently, during the September trip, team members prayed for a lady who had had a biopsy for a mass in her breast. As team members prayed several times through the clinic, changes were seen in the status of the mass, and as she was prayed with again in the evangelism area, the mass was gone. It was confirmed by many! To God be the glory!
We also have to commend all of the onsite work by Pastor Cesar and Amy Gonzalez. They along with the Pastor Max and the staff of Pan De Vida are vital and nothing that we want or need accomplished can be done without their “boots on the ground” and we are ever thankful for their willingness to serve.
As we said, at the beginning of this letter, In Jesus Name Medical Ministry has come a long way, but this is just the beginning! Thank you to each of you who have been part of In Jesus Name in some way. Whether you have prayed, went on a trip, donated clothes, sponsored a child, or donated $5 or $5000, either way you have been a part of the Kingdom of God in Guatemala. We are thankful for each and every one of you, for your thoughts, for your prayers, for your part! We look forward to working with you all in the future. Please feel free to share what God is doing with your friends, family, and your church. As always, we are willing to come and speak wherever there is an open door to share the vision and what God has and will continue to do in Guatemala.
In Jesus Name,
IJN Board
