We have purchased land!

God is busy! We have seen His hand move and we are so excited to share with you what He has done! We have two updates on what In Jesus Name is doing in Guatemala and how you can pray with us and for us!

In January 2023, a contingency of board members made a short trip to look at land and work with Pastor Cesar & Amy Gonzalez, our hands and feet on the ground in Guatemala, on well issues at Pan de Vida. Pan de Vida is flourishing. 50+ children are being fed nourishing meals and the Word of God 3 times a week. Mission teams are staying on site several times a year and God’s Word is being spread and lives are being added to the Kingdom. Recently, we began to have well issues.  We have 2 wells on the property that provided PURE water for the compound. These wells have failed and are no longer reliable. After much prayer and many hours of work on Cesar & Amy’s part, we have a plan to put down a new well at a depth of 500-700 ft deep. Please continue to pray with us about this undertaking. The cost of the new well will be approximately $43,000 (give or take based on exchange rates). God knows the need; our prayer is that this new well will provide pure water for many years to come.

In July 2022, we told you about the next thing that God has laid on our heart. Casas de Nana is a GOD-sized idea of changing the model of an orphanage. We plan to build a series of casitas, Guatemalan style small homes, for unwed or single mothers with children, children living together with an older sibling, etc… we would still be able to help, assist and shelter those children in need. This complex would function similarly to Pan de Vida except it would be individual, residential homes that are more substantial than the present living conditions for these family groups. This would be an enclosed, gated community for those with no or little income. It will be secure, safe, and clean.  There will be supervision and direction in the lives of these families that points to Jesus and His goal of taking the Gospel to the nation and people. We will also work with these families to help them get on their feet and leave “Casas de Nana” therefore opening the homes(s) for the next family in need.

We have rather impatiently prayed and searched for the land in Guatemala so that we could move forward with Casas de Nana. We have been looking and praying for land for sometime and it seemed that we would never find land that was within our budget and met our criteria. Land is much more expensive in Guatemala than in the USA. God did something amazing! We signed a contract for a piece of property that we have desired and prayed for since almost the beginning. This land is one parcel over from Pan de Vida! On Friday, January 20, 2023 we legally purchased this parcel. We are actually enquiring about other property and God is moving in a mighty way! We cannot wait to begin plans and drawing for  Casas de Nana and share the progress with you all! The process will take some time before we are ready to build, but we know that His timing is perfect and He is at work!

If you would like us to come and visit, we would love to share about what GOD is doing!  Feel free to reach out to any of us with questions and set up time for us to come and share with your small group, church or fellowship! We just want to tell everyone about Jesus and what HE is doing!

Your continued prayers and support are coveted as we embark on this journey together.
