We have completed a God-sized project of providing a Feeding Center within the area of El Tejar, Chimaltenango. The purpose of the Feeding Center, referenced above as Pan De Vida (Bread of Life), is to provide a wholesome meal for approximately 50-60 children each day. These children come from needy families in the area. The children will be provided food for their physical needs and more importantly the gospel of Jesus Christ for their spiritual needs.
The children come 3 days a week and a monthly parent meeting is held as well. Weekly, the children are taught The Word of God through songs, games, crafts, and stories. Every day that the children come, they have a home cooked meal. The children are being given opportunities for leadership and their parents are involved as well on a rotation to serve. Often times, organizations and individuals will sponsor a day at Pan de Vida. On those days, the children have pizza and ice cream and even an occasional field trip!
