We have been making these trips since 2008.  We are now able to stay at Pan de Vida. This feeding center located in Chimaltenango, Guatemala is owned and sponsored by In Jesus Name Medical Ministry and functions as a mission house as well.  The mission house is located about 40-50 miles from Guatemala City.  The entire 2nd floor of the feeding center is set aside for mission teams and includes 4 rooms, each with their own bathroom.  Each room sleeps 7 currently.

We do clinics each day we are there, except Sunday and the clinics consist of meeting medical, dental and optical needs and Bible study for the children.  For 7 day trips, this means we do four clinics at four different villages; for 5 day trips, there are typically only 2 clinic days.  The clinics are typically done in churches or schools and are not always ideal conditions but that is what is necessary to meet the needs.  After doing the medical clinic during the day we “convert” our setting and do food and clothing distribution. We normally provide food and clothing for about 200 families in each of the villages we serve.  This is another very humbling experience.  The food consists of staples such as rice, beans, oil, sugar, noodles, etc, etc.  The amazing thing is that for $10.00 we can provide enough food for a family for one month.

On Sunday, we attend a worship service at one of the local churches and then spend several hours at a local market for those who care for souvenirs, etc. Also there will be several opportunities during the trip to attend church services in the evening.  Our team pastor will preach at these services and another team member (originally from Guatemala) will interpret.

We normally have team members from several denominations, different churches and from various walks of life.  A good many of the team members have not met each other until becoming involved in the mission trip and it is amazing how quickly the team members form close bonds and friendships with each other. Teams are made up of people from all walks of life and all career paths. If you have a heart for winning the lost and blessing others, we have a place for you. Contact us today for more information!
